December 24, 2009 at 3:43 pm #91832ladlesMemberThe Mammy JRT is gorgeous, she is very nervous and seems to be more so of men. She did come out for a walk with me and wanted lots of cuddles. She was fine with the other dogs she met. No cats around so could not judge how she would be but I expect she would probably chase them. She is a beauty, I felt sorry leaving her back in her kennel but I promised her a very special Christmas Day walk with lots of kisses and cuddles.
December 26, 2009 at 3:44 pm #91904ladlesMemberMammy JRT got her St Stephen’s Day walk today. She is a nervous girl and will shake with nerves. She just needs lots of tlc , care and attention. She is very affectionate.
December 30, 2009 at 1:00 pm #92055dogsareusMemberHolly came to us yesterday ( I think she may be Jacks Mum) – the poor little girl is quite sick – the vet came out yesterday to see her and gave her an injection as she cannot keep water down. He was going to put her on a drip yesterday but we decided to keep her here and try dioralite to see if that would help her. She did seem a little perkier this morning but sadly still cannot keep anything down so the vet is calling again today. He will probably have to take her with him overnight to get some fluids into her. I really dont want to see her go but at the same time I want her to be better as soon as possible. She is a lovely little girl – even though she is so sock she has been on my lap all morning and whenever I stop rubbing her she puts her nose under my hand to get me to start again…
Please send good thoughts to Holly and hopefully she will be back to herself soon.
December 30, 2009 at 3:03 pm #92059JennyMemberSerina, Holly’s new mum tells me that Holly is on a drip because she cannot keep fluids down but hopes are high for her recovery.
Please keep Holly in your thoughts – she is a wonderful gentle girl who has had a rough time lately.
December 30, 2009 at 3:06 pm #92060dogsareusMemberHolly is gone with the vet to go on a drip – hopefully she will be home tomorrow feeling much better
December 30, 2009 at 4:04 pm #92062ladlesMemberHolly, hope you are feeling better soon. You are such a lovely dog. Once you get fluids back into you, hopefuuly you will start to improve. Come on Holly!
December 30, 2009 at 6:55 pm #92072IndiannaMemberHolly, sending half of Kenny’s ‘get well’ vibes to you. You need to get well again so you can experience a nice, warm, well fed and cared for life, you deserve nothing less. We all want to see you in perfect health, rest and get well.
December 31, 2009 at 12:19 am #92092dogsareusMemberThe Vet called – says Holly is comfortable and in a drip – it’s doubtful she will be home tomorrow ( Thursday) but hopefully she will be feeling a lot better on Friday and back where she is loved
December 31, 2009 at 10:53 am #92096JennyMemberThanks for the update Serina.
COME ON HOLLY YOU CAN DO IT.
December 31, 2009 at 11:58 am #92043IndiannaMemberDearest Holly
Now that Kenny seems to be on the road to recovery and has fallen foul of his fosterer’s cat (Kenny, what were you thinking?) I now send you all my good thoughts for a speedy recovery. You are in the right place for getting better, being on an intravenous drip is a great thing when you feel so poorly. Get well, get well, get well, 2010 and onwards will be a total turnaround for you.
December 31, 2009 at 2:57 pm #92102dogsareusMemberUpdate from Vet – Holly had a good nite – she has not vomited or had diarrohea since he took her at lunchtime yesterday, so that is a good sign
He is going to keep her today and try to get her to eat something, so hopefully she will be home tomorrow so she can curl up in the new fluffy bed I got her this morningJanuary 1, 2010 at 1:20 pm #92122dogsareusMemberThe Vet called – Holly won’t eat anything and he is not happy to let her home until she does. He left her with various things to eat last night, turkey, cheese, milk and dog food and she didn’t touch anything. He asked me what she liked but I dont know cos she did’nt eat anything here either – does anyone have any ideas? Or would anyone know what she ate in the pound?
