Dexter is going in to be neutered on Thursday so will then be available to go to a wonderful new home.

I just cant believe this guy is still in foster with me… He is such a heart breaker and catches everyones attention when out walking… He is very clever and loves to play.. He is full of fun and energy and would love an active home as he will keep you fit for sure… He would also love agility i think and it would be very important to being him to trainning classes just to keep it in practice as he would love the different challenges.. Will get some pic’s of him too up asap..

    Hi,
just wanted to thank you Catherine for posting the pics up for me. And thankyou to everyone who made it possible for us to adopt Dexter, we are delighted with him.
As you can see Dexter is getting along great here, he really loves his walks especially when he meets doggie friends to play with.
He has a new best pal called Ringo across the road, when the two of them get together they are so naughty, they wont come in until i manage to bribe Dex with a treat
Any tips on how to get him to stop pulling on the lead ?
Yesterday i tried taking a bag of treats and gave him one each time he was walking nicely !

Hi Jade no bother just email them to me anytime and i’ll stick them up…
As for the pulling on the lead if her is being strong there are a couple of options.. Trainning classes as i said to you they would be great for him and he would really benifit from as he is so clever…. You can also keep going with the treats but it might take a little longer for him to realise what he is doing every time he recieves his treat. YOu could also try a harness they would brilliant (with some dogs) but my Gsd can be very strong on the lead at time and i have tried everything with her and the only thing i found to work was a hali (it would go on his muzzle and attach to him colar but you use a second lead with it. But My Jessie is much bigger than Dexter so im nearly sure a Harness would work with him.. You can get both in most pet shops or vets. so read up on them and check them out..
    Good luck..

Thanks Catherine, will get a harness this week, i also have to get those bar things to keep him in the back of the car as he goes mental in the car jumping all over the place !
I definitly am going to do some classes with him but it’s going to have to wait until next month.
Is there any particular one’s you can recommend ? I know there is a place just down the rd from us in the estuary kennels.

DSPCA Classes are great , just started with our two!
I think some other ones are starting near the end of February! But I don’t know how old Dexter is and the ones we do is for 6+ months!
I’m sure the classes dogluvers recommended are great to!
Dexter is a gorgeous little thing ;)
