Mitch is now staying with us. He arrived yesterday evening and only took about 10 mins to settle in
He was a little nippy at first but with 3 other dogs in his face who can blame him
He was off lead last night and was brilliant, didn’t wander too far at all and played really well with my boxer. He’s really friendly with people, loves chasing balls and is delighted with any attention. He didn’t sleep great last night but hopefully he’ll be a bit more settled tonight. Will post some photos soon.
Well little Mitch has gone to a great foster home. He is probably wondering what’s going on. He left his home, stayed with me for one night and now another new place. He is a lovely fella, he really does love people. He kept jumping up on my lap for cuddles. Thanks Mark for picking him up earlier than expected and thanks to both of you for kindly fostering him. He was just too much for my cat.
We’re just glad we could take him. One more small guy fits in easy ![]()

Enjoying the pigs ears from Marie!

Having a rest! You can hardly see him

A bit scruffy today, but hopefully he’ll be getting his new look at the Wagging Tail next week!

He’s a great cushion for Jamie ![]()
Ahhh! the lovely Mitch. He looks as if he is getting on great with the other dogs. He will scrub up well, he was a bit smelly. This guy deserves the best new start in life. Looks as if he is getting spoilt with you, may that continue for Mitch in his next home. He is a lovely little dog.
Mitch stayed with me when he first came out of the pound.
He was a great little man and mixed in well with ten other dogs at the time.
I am very sorry for him that he has been uprooted again and I am sure he is confused but he certainly has made himself at home with Maeve, Mark and family.
Love the photos Maeve they are really good.
They all look so content munching on their treats but the pillow is excellent.
Look forward to seeing the little man next week for his makeover…………………ten years younger and all that.
He will come back smelling of CK1 and be totally huggable.
His next home needs to be his last move for his sake.
I completely agree with Ann & Marie, this little guy definitely deserves a new start and loving family. He does not deserve to be shipped around again so his new family has to be his last. He has gotten on great with our dogs, and spent time today in a group of 6 dogs with no problems at all. Mark’s nieces and nephews all spent time with him, again no problems. He was even carried around by Mark’s niece which he loved
She thought Mitch was Toto from the wizard of Oz
He does need some work with sharing his treats with the other dogs but he has already relaxed a bit with this in just the few days that we have had him so I am sure that this can be worked on.
He can’t wait for the beauty treatments, and I’m sure he’ll have plenty of admirers when he’s all done! Although Jamie seems keen already ![]()
Can’t wait to see the scrubbed up Mr Mitch. He has such a sweet temperament, I know he’s gonna look gorgeous( not that he doesn’t already)
This fella was fab before his hair cut but he is now absolutely gorgeous thanks to Liz!! He loves his new cut and is prancing all around the house since he got home! We went to the Phoenix Park this morning and he amazed me by NOT going into all the puddles
Hope these pictures show the tiger markings cause they’re really beautiful. He is so soft and cuddly now, no more wirey hair.

Mitch is getting on great with our dogs. He needs work on greeting other dogs outside the house as he barks at them all when on lead
He seems much much better when off lead though. All he wants to do is sniff them and then the barking stops straight away
He was really good at recall in the Phoenix Park today, he did bark at some of the other dogs just to say hello but never wandered far at all
We’re still working on sharing treats with the other dogs but this has definitely improved. All I can say now is that he’s just gorgeous! He’s fast asleep, tucked up beside Basil ![]()
The photos of Mitch with his new haircut are lovely. Thanks so much for posting them up.

Mitch’s favourite position is to lie out with legs stretched out behind him, just chilling
His coat is still fabulous as you can see! He is just such a lovely little character. He will follow me around the house forever God love him, and I feel terrible every time I move cause he feels he has to get up to follow me
He loves to play with the other dogs now and will sit in front of them when they’re sleeping whining and pawing their heads so that they’ll play with him
He’s just so cute!!
Mitch has gone to his forever home today
I am so happy for this little guy, he is just so great. Just two hours gone and I’m missing him so much already
He has gone to a lovely lovely home and I’m sure that this time he’ll be adored
Good luck to Mitch and to the Kavanaghs too ![]()
thats great news !!!!! i hope he luves a hppy happy life … when i seen this guy on saturday for my home visit he was a great little character and had a nice little play with lola
im so happy for this guy he is amazing !
Hi All,
We didnt know that we could post updates on Mitch, Nearly 2 years later and he is still here with us. We love him very much and we honestly do not know who we have survived this long without a dog. Just looking at some comments and I can all tell you know he is exactly the same. He still lies with his back paws out. He loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa and sleeping. Loves his bikkies and denta sticks and is a terrible begger at the dinner table. He is buddies with the dog next door and they share their treats.
He really is such a wonderful dog. I have recently had a baby and they just love each other. Some jealousy at first but he got over that. He was very protective of me when I was pregnant and is very protective of my little boy. He still has his tiger stripe and resembles a Meerkat when he gets his haircut. He loved the snow and I hope to upload some pictures of him in the snow soon. Still hates cats and the birds torment him
I will keep everyone updated and I will post new pictures when he gets his haircut.
Thank you DID for brining a wonderful addition to our family.
Love Mitchies Sister ![]()
