this guy is so sweet, only young i would say about a year

I emailed Irish Reriever Rescue about Brett (email is info@irishsetterrescue.org.uk) They replied saying the following which I think is positive! perhaps Dogs in Distress could follow up.
Thank you for your email. regarding Brett the Irish Setter (looks like he has lots of white- most unusual markings). Our Rescue in the U.K. would be very willing to help Brett by finding a home for him in the U.K. We pay all travelling expenses to the U.K. However, we would need to know a little about him e.g. temperament, age, whether neutered or entire, health state etc. As I am sure Dogs in Distress is aware we cannot re-home a dog who is known to bite or attack a human adult or child.

Brett is a very friendly dog. He gave me a lovely greeting yesterday when I met him out walking and today he looked really happy running around on his lead. He was very playful with Bindi the collie X. He was in a group with children and seemed to love their company. Hopefully someone who walked him can post up more info. He looks in good condition.
He is the imagine of a red setter that lives near my friend in Raheny. I will say it to her to find out if the family are missing their red setter as he is just stunning and would be great if he could go home!
Please tell me what happened to Brett.
Brett is still in the pound.
We would happily take Brett when we take Ace next week ![]()
Thank you Dorset Dog Rescue. If you haven’t found him a home by the time I retire in April 2011 he can come and join my family and my rescued golden retriever. However I think that is highly unlikely as I suspect he wil be snapped up.
Maureen at Irish Setter Rescue (as per my earlier post was also agreeable to take on the basis that Brett was not know to have "issues"). But I dont think my post with contact details for Maureen was picked up by Dogs in Distress.
It is good to know that he will be out and safe soon.
does brett still need a foster home?
Yes, Brett and all dogs in urgent action need foster
If you go to forms and downloads on the main page and fill in a foster application form myself or Gwen will give you a call – thanks ![]()
Is Brett safe now? I think a UK rescue may be able to help.

Brett is still in Ashton pound. It is rare to see Red Setters in Ashton, although there have been a few in the past. The unusual thing is that Brett is in so long. He is a gorgeous dog, lovely temperament. As you can see from his first photo, he is a real cuddler.
Walked Brett yestereday in the pound. He is beautiful, only a young dog, quite skinny needs some conditioning. He is not very tall for a red setter, definitely on the more petite side. He is very puppy like in his behaviour, exuberant and full of energy. Calms down after awhile. Great with other dogs big and small, happy out. Big tail wagger, big licker, big baby really. Heard he was going into foster yesterday, not sure if that materialized. Cannot believe he’s not been snapped up.
