This is Miller. His hair hides it well but he is so very, very underweight. He is all bones and his back legs are weak from no muscle.
He is out of the pound but needs somewhere to go. He is weak and hungry. He needs to somewhere he can get regular small meals (5/6 times a day) and where the other household members aren’t too boisterous for him. Poor baby is just not able at the moment.
He is a sweetheart. Very affectionate and gentle. He loves everyone he meets and is fine around quieter dogs/pups.
Update – Miller has found a foster home
January 12, 2009 at 8:59 pm #82604mimiMemberHow old is this chap?
January 12, 2009 at 9:01 pm #82603suebradyMemberHe’s not too old. Only about 2.
January 12, 2009 at 9:01 pm #82605NiamhMemberHow old is he? Is he a JRT? He looks a lot like my Angel.
I would be happy to offer him a foster place with us, if you think he would get on well here. We don’t have kids so the house is quiet unless friends call at the weekend and I am only gone five hours a day.
If I can help please let me know, Mick has agreed to taking him as well.
January 12, 2009 at 9:10 pm #82606NiamhMemberSue I’ve just PMd you. We would love to offer this lil guy a foster space.
January 13, 2009 at 8:16 am #81232suebradyMemberMiller really would be better off with someone who’s around all day. He loves company (although is ok on his own) and he needs feeding regularly. At least for the first few weeks.
If you know anyone that might be able to help, please let me know
January 13, 2009 at 7:06 pm #82631smellthegloveMemberI am around most of the time and would be happy to give him a good bit of grub. Is he neutered as my girl is due to be soon. I have a fairly fast 2 yr old though but could keep an eye on her.
January 16, 2009 at 8:44 am #82704suebradyMemberMiller is doing well. After only a few days of food, there has already been a big improvement in him. He is looking healthier and happier. He is also much stronger than he was.
He has been fine with most dogs he has met but doesn’t seem too comfortable around dominant males. He’s also fine with large dogs as well as the little uns!
He’s was grand around my cats – think he thought they were a bit odd though! He couldn’t understand their antics at all
As you can see, he’s even attempting the stairs now. 3 days ago he had to be carried up and down them!

January 20, 2009 at 9:22 am #82777suebradyMemberHi Cathy & Frankie – have you filled in an adoption form and had your homevisit yet? This is needed in order to adopt Miller.
You can contact Sarah (curly@dogsindistress.org) for more information

January 20, 2009 at 9:39 am #82752NiamhMemberSusie he looks amazing, it is fantastic to see how well he is getting on after a short while of TLC. You certainly do an amazing job with the dogs and I’m sure they are thankful in their own little way.
January 20, 2009 at 10:10 am #82779suebradyMemberMiller is now in foster care in the city centre and loving life. He’s being brought to Herbert Park which he loves and is eating well.
This little man’s life has change dramatically in just a week! He’s doing great now
