This lovely girl is Jodie, formally Bell. She is an 18 month old Boxer x with a bit of staffie in her. She is spayed, vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. She is very intelligent but hasnt had any training, she is getting on well with the other dogs and is now adjusting to living with children as she hasnt experienced it before. She is a bundle of energy and very bouncy. She has been very friendly with anyone I have met out walking and will wait patiently if I stop to chat. She would suit an active person or family with older children/teenagers.

    Jodie

Jodie has been in foster with us for four months now. She has been living with three children (aged 6 to 10 years) and two male boxer dogs (she also lived with our other female foster dog Ruby for three months). She is such a wonderful dog and is very easy to live with. She loves the company of other dogs and I have never seen any aggression in her towards other dogs male or female. She is house-trained and non-destructive in the house and she doesn’t take shoes/toys etc. She will only chew on her own toys. Jodie is very intelligent and has learned quite a bit living with us but will require further training. She is very comfortable living in a family enviroment. She is a very, very active dog and loves her daily runs (she rarely walks). Her ideal home would have a large secure garden (Jodie can open doors/gates) and she really needs the company of another dog. She would be fine in a home with older children as she is too lively for little ones. She needs an experienced family/owner who will give her the exercise she needs, and also who will love and cherish her (as we do!) and treat her as part of the family.

Jodie is doing great here and has learned to play fetch. She is just brilliant with a tennis ball and the minute she gets out of the car she is watching for the ball. It is saving my poor legs too, she gets to cover twice the ground than I have too. She will drop the ball at my feet and start bouncing for me to throw it again. She could do with teaching her companions to ‘leave it’, Tigger and Ben think the objective is to chew on the ball and give it back when it is in two halves! So I am keeping Euro 2 in business buying tennis balls. It has also improved her recall too because she is so interested in what I’m doing she comes as soon as she is called. She is always very eagar to say hello to other dogs she meets but if she is playing ball it hold her attention and she doesn’t bother. I am totally smitten with this dog, she reminds me of my first boxer dog also a female (although Jodie is a lot less trouble!!) so intelligent and a stunner too.

The lovely Jodie is now in her forever home …… with me! After nearly seven months of foster she felt like she was home already. She was the most challenging foster we have had but the most rewarding. Jodie just needed someone to show her the way and someone she could trust. To send her off to start over again would have just felt cruel and I think she would have thought we had abandoned her. I have cried every time a foster dog went off to their new home but it was different this time, it felt like we would be giving up part of our family. We are very proud of her and love her to bits and are delighted that she will be staying with us. :D
