The gorgeous Abbey...

Abbey was shy with us for about a mili-second and as soon as we showed affection she was all over us. She was very hyper in the car for a couple of minutes but then she calmed down and was delighted looking out the window while we drove her home.
So far Abbey appears to love people more than anything. She sniffs other humans when we have her out walking and loves attention from them. She is a little bit wary of other dogs when we're out and about with her, she has no interest in them and turns away when they come over to her. We want to find out a little bit more about that so will update further on her interaction with other dogs as soon as we can.
In general, Abbey is very chilled and relaxed. She'll hang out on the couch with you and snore her little head off. She has been very needy the last couple of days but we're putting that down to the upheaval and she already seems to be improving on that front. We will update in another week or so on her progress. Abbey is a very easy dog to fall head over heels in love with.

Even though it's only been five nights, I thought I would update on Abbey's progress...

We have tested her with other dogs and we believe she would be better as an only dog. She most definitely likes being the center of attention and would thrive as an only dog.

Abbey has been suffering separation anxiety. It was pretty tough the first couple of nights but we're getting there. She was alone for 5hrs last night before we heard a peep out of her so it's getting better all the time and look forward to the day where I can update that she finally got a full nights sleep.

Abbey wants for nothing. She doesn't get in your space when you're eating like a lot of dogs do. She has a little look at what you're eating and then just nods off asleep. You won't hear a peep out of her when you're in her company, all she wants is to eat her food and sleep. She likes playing tug (we bought her a rope with balls on it) and she adores her walkies and is really good on the lead. She will walk or run with you. She's inquisitive but obedient if you tell her to leaving something alone or to continue walking with you, she won't put up a fight.

Abbey is a gorgeous girl and would make a fantastic companion for the right people.

Well done on sticking with Abbey and helping her get over her anxiety. She has not been wanted where she was so now that she has found humans that care and show her affection she is afraid to loose it.
I love her co-ordinated collar and lead it looks really good on her.
Glad to hear she is starting to enjoy life.
Thank you for doing a great job with her and getting her to feel safe.

The lovely Abbey is over her op, has had her stitches removed and finally got that cone off! She has really settled into a routine and is doing really well. Abbey needs discipline and structure to thrive, an adult household and plenty of walks. She has had a tough past and we think that as well as she's doing with us, we can see she would be doing even better in a bigger home with a garden. It breaks our hearts that nobody has shown interest in this absolute beauty yet, we just know her forever home is out there, waiting for her to come into their lives. Abbey has made such a difference to our lives, we cant wait to see her settled in her new home and never be uprooted again. All this girl really wants is a family to love her.
