Buttons is our first foster and he is an absolute sweetheart.

He is such an affectionate little boy, very playful but also very quiet - he hasn't barked once since we took him in! Loves his cuddles, and has already endeared himself to my three older boys - they adore him.

He is fine on the lead, but a little skittish when cars or traffic go by - he obviously isn't used to going out on walks but he will get better with that fairly quickly. Can't say what he is like with other dogs yet as we have only really passed a handful on our walks.

He is fully housetrained, and doesn't appear to have any separation anxiety issues at all. He will make an absolutely ideal family pet - cannot believe his owners were not looking for him as he is such a lovely, friendly little boy.

Buttons continues to be a model guest -such a well behaved little boy.

Loves to play with his toys, snooze on the couch and greets everyone with kisses and a waggy tail. We had our 5 year old grand-daughter over yesterday and he was great with her, so no issues with younger children either.

He is an absolute dream dog who is going to make some family very happy.

Yesterday, we signed the adoption papers for Oreo and Buttons.

When we lost our beloved dog Waldo a few months ago we thought we would never get another dog as we loved him so much (never mind two). Oreo and Buttons took a lot of hard work to settle into the house, they chewed on my good shoes, they ate the sofa, they literally ate the kitchen sink (plastic basin!!).

We have been spending so much time training them and can see huge improvements. There are still days that are difficult but when you realise how much they need you to feed them, walk them and play with them you realise its a big responsibility. I would say to anyone out there wanting to adopt a dog, please put in the work and give it time - the more you put into your dog the more rewarding you will find it.

We all adore Oreo and Buttons and they love each other. They have so much love to give us and we are always blown away at how loving they can be to each other - Buttons licks Oreo's ears every day and loves cuddling up beside or on top of her (she makes a very comfy seat/bed) Oreo is so patient with Buttons, all he wants to do is play with her (usually by biting her leg and running under the table looking for a chase).

Thank you so much to Kathy and Liz in Dogs in Distress for being so patient with us and waiting for us to finally decide on keeping them both and I know we are all going to be happy together for a long time to come. We wouldn't be without them - the Fox and the Hound!
