I have to put up some recent photo's of the "Bear".She is such a lovely devoted placid dog.She is still ball mad & has gone through quite a few tennis balls & footballs  Every day someone will stop me to admire her & ask what type of dog she is as she is so unusual looking.I have her nearly 4 years now & it's only now her hair is growing back on her tail. She was on hormone tablets & nothing worked,so I am delighted with that :D
I highly recommend adopting an adult dog, they are so grateful to you & repay you with absolute love & devotion

 That ball is her treasure, great photo. I totally agree with your comment about adopting older dogs, they seem to be so grateful for even the most basic things - like a scratch behind an ear. Well done, she looks great :D

It it, it's that grizzly bear again! Keiya looks great.

What a fabulous girl! :) I can see why Keiya attracts so much attention on walks. 8-)
I gave you my house when you were alone; when I walk through the door it now feels like home
Tail wagging and waiting our bond quickly grew; such unconditional love…who rescued who?

I'm sad to be posting on here,Keiyas last post .
She would have been about 13 years old and had slowed down in the past year.
She had artrhitis and her back legs had gone very weak.
The day came that I was dreading and we did the last kind thing for her,and let her go
We gave her 8 wonderful years but she gave us 8 even better ones.
Sleep tight my little fuzzy bear, until we meet again  xxxxx
Thank you D.I.D for the pleasure of minding this beautiful one in a million dog xxx

Lend me a pup

I will lend you for a while a German Shepherd pup, GOD said.
For you to love her while she lives, and mourn him when she is dead.

Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three.
But will you, 'till I call her back, take care of her for me?

She'll bring her charms to gladden you and should her stay be brief,
you'll always have her memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true.
And from the folk that crowd's life's land, well I have chosen you.

Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labor vain,
nor hate me when I come to take my Shepherd back again?

I fancied that I heard them say "Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
for all the joys this pup will bring, the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may.
And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay.

But should you call her back, much sooner than we've planned,
we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.

If, by our love, we've managed, your wishes to achieve,
in memory of her we loved, to help us while we grieve.

When our faithful friend departs this world of strife,
we'll have another German Shepherd and love her all his life.
