Happy Ever After :D From Ruby's new family:

Ruby travelled well in the car for the hour journey north she slept most of the way. She was very inquisitive and nervous and went around the house inspecting her new home. She has settled very well in the first few hours. Now as I type she is sitting on my wife’s knee, so much for Ruby being my dog!!

I might have to wait, I'll never give up . . . wherever you are, whenever it's right you'll come out of nowhere and into my life . . .And I promise you, kid, I give so much more than I get, I just haven't met you yet.

Hi Folks, Just an update on Ruby.

We have had Ruby now for nearly 4 weeks. She has settled really well, much better than we could ever of imagined.

Her daily walks of at least 3 miles have her shattered at night no to mention the health benefits to us.
She really enjoys human company she will run around the house looking for us, and wants to be in the same room with us no matter what we are doing. She gets on really well with other dogs and has been a bit of a talking point as people have got to know that we got another dog.

Thanks to all at DID for your support and to her foster carer for her help and advice.

Ruby-Update

Postby Medic4622 » Wed Dec 11, 2013 11:38 pm

Ruby has been with us now from April 2013, and is enjoying her new surroundings.

She is still learning what she can and can't do but will she how far she can go before shes told off. She loves the walks and loves the company.

I can truly say we got a great dog from DID.

Thanks to all involved.

Ruby-Happy Ever After (18 Months on)

Postby Medic4622 » Sun Nov 23, 2014 12:09 pm

Just a update for Ruby.

When our little 16yr old yorkie died i found the house very empty, and decided to adopt rather than buy a pup as time with a pup can be very demanding in its own way. I felt I didn't have time for a pup and I knew there were plenty of dogs needing a home. We have had Ruby now or 18 months. Ruby has settled in very and now were I go she goes. She is thriving, bit of a fussy eater but dines well on meat and veg. She has been a breath of fresh air getting me up and out as she can be demanding when she wants to go for walk. She loves a tennis ball and would run to Dublin to retrieve it. As I sit and write this update my every move is being monitored in case I go to the door and she missed the opportunity to go out. Ruby loves company and is a very affectionate dog, and always greets us with a 'smile' when we come in I hope this little update will inspire others to adopt a dog.
